In most areas, summer supply water runs 55-65 degrees-cold enough to trigger condensation when air temps hit 75 degrees or higher.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Frequent flushing.<\/strong> Every flush refills the tank with cold water. In a busy household, the tank never warms up.<\/span><\/li><\/ol><h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Fixes That Actually Work<\/span><\/h2><h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1. Run Your Bathroom Exhaust Fan<\/span><\/h3><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The simplest fix costs nothing. Run the exhaust fan during and for 15-20 minutes after showers. This pulls humid air out and drops the bathroom&#8217;s relative humidity below the condensation threshold. If your fan is weak or noisy, upgrading to a modern 80+ CFM fan is a $150-$300 project that solves multiple moisture problems.<\/span><\/p><h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2. Install an Anti-Sweat Valve (Mixing Valve)<\/span><\/h3><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">An anti-sweat valve-also called a tempering or mixing valve-adds a small amount of hot water to the cold supply line feeding your toilet. This raises the tank water temperature to 68-72 degrees, which eliminates condensation. A <a href=\"https:\/\/callpowells.com\/norfolk\/plumbing\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"34\" title=\"Plumbing\">plumber<\/a> installs it on the supply line behind the wall. Cost runs $150-$300 for parts and labor. It&#8217;s the most reliable permanent fix for chronic sweating.<\/span><\/p><h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3. Insulate the Tank<\/span><\/h3><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Tank insulation kits ($15-$30 at hardware stores) line the inside of the tank with foam. They reduce condensation by keeping the cold water from cooling the outer porcelain surface.
